Editorial policy
Northern Resource aims to make careful, readable explanations of northern landscapes and natural resources. We distinguish what can be observed from what is inferred, and take responsibility for correcting errors.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against appropriate, dependable material before publication and take care not to turn a useful example into a universal rule. Where evidence is limited, terminology varies or an explanation is uncertain, we say so. Articles provide general editorial information, not professional or official advice.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for relevance to the publication's subject and readers. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable editorial conclusion, and partner material does not determine independent coverage.
Corrections
Readers can flag a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, relevant details and correct material when warranted, making clear changes where they affect an article's meaning.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial articles. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an image is synthetic or could be mistaken for documentary evidence, it is identified accordingly.
A place is written in its resources
We follow the clues in stone, soil, water and trees to understand how northern landscapes take shape. Knowing a material's origins helps us see its place more clearly.
